“Bruder” means brother in German and, while they may not be siblings, chef Lucas Steindorfer and mixologist Hubert Peter are as thick as thieves. The two friends manage the restaurant in Vienna’s 6th district. Bruder is not all about sumptuous cuisine or ambience but a modern inn with a laid-back ambience. Spartan, if you will, functional, but comfortable. The wall shelves feature a myriad glass bottles with fermenting fruits and vegetables, a colourful kaleidoscope. After their preservation, Lucas Steindorfer uses most of them as ingredients for his dishes, such as the delicious bacon homemade chili sauerkraut. Even Hubert Peter plays with fermented ingredients in his creative cocktails. An interesting location just outside the city centre.
